About That Utilitarian Trend
They say that everyone loves a man in uniform so perhaps that’s why the utilitarian trend has really taken off this fall. Inspired by garments worn by the military, navy, and other uniformed men this is a trend that commands attention. Details like epaulets and shearling collars reminiscent of air force or military generals are back in a big way. One of my favorite utilitarian pieces this fall is the classic trench coat. With details like the double-breasted design, high collar, and belted waist, this jacket was made to protect against rain and wind why still giving you a dapper appeal. I paired this jacket with olive green wool trousers and black Chelsea boots for a military feel. Rain or shine, the trench makes a great light jacket for these awkward transitional days of the fall.
