Alternative Ways To Rock A Suit This Summer

For me suits are reserved for special occasions like weddings and cocktail parties but on occasion I do like to mix up my more casual style with some tailored elements. My friends at ASOS recently asked me to participate in a little exercise to showcase alternative ways to rock a suit, and being the sartorial experimenter that I am, I gladly accepted the challenge. For today’s look I started with the traditional blazer, but instead of traditional hues like black and navy, I opted for a much bolder pink color! I knew I wasn’t going to wear the suit with its matching pants, so instead I decided to go for a punk-inspired feel with a pair of plaid trousers. Plaid pants with casual tees have been making a big comeback on the runways recently so I think this styling choice is right on trend for what we’ll be seeing this coming fall. To keep things casual I wore my “suit’ with a pair of Vans and a graphic tee – (apologies for not knowing the Misfits – but I just really liked the shirt graphic =/ ). Not too dressy, but not too casual is the result we get with this alternative suit dress code! How would you choose to wear a suit in your own way?
