All About This 1950s Korean Souvenir Jacket
So I’m basically Ryan Gosling in Drive right? Ever since I saw the movie I was kind of obsessed with that silk jacket with the embroidered scorpion print on it that he basically wears for 90% of the film. And although this jacket isn’t the same one, it’s still giving me all those sexy race car driver vibes which TBH, is a vibe I defintely wanna give off. After doing a litle research on this jacket (read: searches Google once) I found out that the jacket Ryan wears in the movie was actually inspried by vintage 1950s Korean Souvenir jackets. Fun fact about the jackets is that soldiers in Korea would send these jackets home to thier wives or girlfriends as souvenirs, hence the name. Typically the names of the soliders and the islands they were stationed at in Korea were stitched on the jacket along with a decorative motif. Although the actual jacket I’m wearing here is not from my soldier bae away at war, it’s a pretty damn good replica of one so it works! And besides, everyone’s spring outerwear game could use a little shimmer, am I right?
