My Weekend With Lacoste
I can’t even remember that last time I played tennis and that’s probably because I never did…but when Lacoste invited me down to Montauk for a weekend of tennis and relaxation it was pretty hard to say no. In fact, I was probably more like “YASSSS!” because who wouldn’t want the opportunity to get their sportz on with one last summer trip to the beach.
Now I’ve been to Montauk plenty of times this summer, but TBH nothing compared to this weekend at Gurney’s. I mean I was LIVINGGGGG that #LuxeLyfe in my newly renovated beachfront room with its ocean views and a private balcony. And I guess the rest of the resort was okay, too. Kiddinggg. I mean everything was amazing from the breakfast at Tillie’s (laughs at insides joke) to the dinner at Scarpetta, to the drinks at basically everywhere. Gurney’s was on point with the hospitality! Oh and there’s the spa with it’s indoor pool that looks out onto ocean views, and most importantly my post-tennis cat-like massage which was complete heaven.
With all the welcome distractions at the resort, I almost forgot I was actually here for tennis. I’ll be the first to admit that I wasn’t #blessed with athletic prowess. My hand-eye coordination is pretty much limited to using my iPhone for selfies, but I will say that thanks to our wonderful instructors at Friday morning’s tennis clinic I am now basically a pro-level tennis player. I mean that’s obviously not at all true, but still…I’ve never had more fun missing nearly every tennis ball that came my way. So much so that they basically had to drag me from the courts because I could’ve stayed all day if for nothing else than to finally get the perfect serve and to return at least one ball. Besides, I’d like to to think the whole preppy tennis player outfit looks really cute on me. Am I right?
