The shoe of the summer is here and it comes in the form of the new Nike Air Max 270 React. As a hardcore Nike fan, I’ve been eagerly waiting for this new silhouette to drop, and now having had the chance to get my hands on them, I can definitely say it was worth the wait.

If this new style feels a bit familiar, it’s because it combines two of Nike’s biggest shoe innovations, Air + React. I’ve collected my fair share of Air Max’s over the years and also have a pair of React’s too, so seeing these two technologies come together in one standout sneaker was definitely a big win for Nike in my book.

As one of Nike’s first “lifestyle” sneakers, it still delivers when it comes to all-day comfort. The bold new air unit takes the shoe to new heights in style and comfort, while the React foam midsole provides exceptional cushioning to keep you moving throughout your busy days.

Aesthetically, the no-stitch look of the uppers creates a clean and modern look. And to me the monochromatic blue colorway is the perfect nod to summer. It’s already got me picturing cool ocean waves and summer days at the beach or pool.

When it comes to styling my Air Max 270 React sneakers, I think it’s best to let the shoe be the focal point of the look. I stuck with neutral solids with just a touch of blue accents to reference back to the all blue sneakers. For my outfit, I chose white as my base neutral, but you could easily pull off a similar vibe using gray, black, or beige tones in your clothing. As long as you keep the look minimal, the shoe will really pop and steal the show!
